Confederation Trail Tour
SELF-GUIDED - The Confederation Trail is Prince Edward Island’s rails to trail system and part of the Trans Canada Trail. The Trail features a stone dust surface, flat terrain and great signage along the way. You’ll ride through the interior of the Province touching on some quaint town and villages. Enjoy a comfortable pace between 50-75 kilometers per day, enjoying side by side riding on the Trail
You’ll be shuttled to the beginning of the Trail in Tignish (2 hour shuttle) and follow the trail for 273kms total ending in Elmira or Souris. A shuttle will get you back to Charlottetown in about 1.5 hours. The only time you’ll leave the Trail is to get to your accommodations, a mix of BnB’s, resorts and inns. Paved - PEI Cycling Tours avoids the main highways and uses secondary roads for our paved sections. About 80% of our road routes include comfortable shoulders for riding. Any hills are relatively short with maximum 4% grade.
Unpaved - Back roads and heritage roads are unpaved and can be very smooth as well as rutty. Great for gravel bikes and those looking for off route adventures.
EBIKES
Information for Ebike riders
Because every rider, road condition, and elevation profile is different from day to day, it is up to the rider to assess there range as they ride along. Our Ebikes have a range of 100-120km per day if riding at the lowest level. Using higher levels affects your range so keep an eye on your battery level and if you need to charge at your lunch break you’ll need to take your charger with you. If bringing your own Ebike, you know your bike best so we trust you’ll ride accordingly. If you run out of battery before you get to your destination and can not ride unassisted, we can help shuttle you for an additional fee.
